On May 10, 2025, Karura Forest became more than just a green escape—it became a stage for compassion.

Mama Ibado Charity (MIC) hosted a mock event for its Run for Seniors campaign, and Kenya’s aviation and corporate giants turned up—not just as sponsors, but as active supporters.

Jambojet, Safarilink, Bluebird Aviation, Amref, Centum Re, Dragonfly, Jubilee Insurance, Kasas Air, Hawk Aviation, Renegade Air, Futuresoft, Safezone Auto Parts, and 748 Air Services were not just names on a banner. They were there in person, standing for the elderly who have been left behind.

MIC Director Amb. Amina Mohamed was clear about the mission. “This isn’t just a run. It’s a call to action. Our seniors matter. They deserve dignity, and we must stand with them.”

MIC President Ahmed Jibril went further. “These are the people who built this country. We owe them more than just our gratitude. We owe them our care.”

748 Air Services Managing Director Moses Mwangi spoke directly to the gathered companies. “Legacy isn’t just what you build. It’s what you give back. Our seniors gave us everything. It’s time we gave back.”

Renee Wachuka, Brand Executive – Loyalty & Sustainability at Jambojet, echoed this. “We’re here because dignity for our seniors is not negotiable.”

Gladys Wanjiru Mburu from Centum Re put it bluntly. “This is about action. It’s not enough to speak. We must show up.”

But this event was just a preview. The real Run for Seniors is set for July 11, 2025, at Karura Forest.WhatsApp Image 2025 05 10 at 15.54.32 e950f3cf Proceeds will go to Mama Ibado Charity’s programs that provide food baskets and medical care to over 1,000 elderly Kenyans in Isiolo and Kakamega.

This is not just a run. It’s a promise. A promise to stand with the elderly. A promise to show that they are not forgotten.
