Senator Ledama Tells Ruto Maa Nation Won’t Be Conned in 2027 Poll
Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has sent a bold and clear message to President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the Maa Nation will not be taken for granted again.
Speaking during a public event in Kiserian, Ledama warned that the over 1.3 million Maa votes, as per the 2022 IEBC register, will not be handed over to leaders who are trying to divide Kenyans along tribal lines.
In what seemed like a direct attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his allies who held a major rally in the same area just two days earlier Ledama said the Maa community will not be used as political pawns.
“We are behind President Ruto as a national leader, but let it be known, the Maa Nation will not be conned again come 2027,” Ledama said.
The senator’s statement drew loud cheers from the crowd, many of whom echoed his sentiments.
The remarks have added fuel to an already heated political environment, as leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the next election.
The video of Ledama’s speech has since gone viral, sparking fresh debate on tribal politics and unity in Kenya.
